An offering made by fire

I woke up earlier than normal today with thoughts of an e-mail in my head and on my heart. This woman, my teacher, mentor and sister friend encourages us to write out full chapters of the Bible. Every time I pen words directly from the source I think of her and by the way her name is Debra and I call her Ms. Debbie. Fancy that! When I did as the e-mail asked and re-read Acts 2, several words caught my attention and the first words I focus on were ALL TOGETHER and the next word was Pentecost.

But then I am reminded of our BSF study in Leviticus and how many times I highlighted the word (FIRE) as Moses wrote for our Father. Over and over again … An offering made by fire, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.¬†

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Acts 2:1-4 (NIV)
