Around Here Lately {Creating House & Home with Jesus}

It’s been a rough forty or so days around the God-Sized Dream House. Our Father continues to press in on the fiber of this family to bond it as one. It’s almost me and Jimmy’s first year marriage anniversary. And London and Lillian were married eight months the other day. We are on a journey to a new reality and because of our Father’s steadfast love Jimmy and London now have a better understanding of what our Father has brought us through.

Last night we all slept in the very same room. With most of our stuff packed away in mini U-hauls we all slept on our mattresses in the middle of our living room. Last night Jimmy snored and London talked in his sleep. Last night Elijah slept on his mat in the middle of the five of us. Three mats, five people. Last night our Father answered my year long prayers and created beauty in the mist of a mess. Last night JD wished her Auntie Happy Birthday via Instagram.

I thought it most telling when Lillian spoke into the darkness …

“This is how we sleep on the Canada mission trips.”

You see Lillian is our family missionary. She’s been on many stateside missions trips with our Church … Southeast Baptist. And she was on the church’s very first mission trip to Canada.

Soon, Jimmy and London will have a better understanding of our crazy devotion to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Soon, they too will know what it’s like to be rescued.

“We have been rescued to rescue.”

I am amazed at what our Father will allow to make sure a family is bonded and on the very same page. HIS love and grace is the everlasting peace in the mist of a storm.

Soon our family will be more than a blended family, we will be a Bonded family, blended bonded and glued together by the grace of HIS LOVE.

He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions. Daniel 6:27 (NIV)
