Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:13 (NIV)
Jesus came to divide us into two camps, those that love Him and those that don’t.
“Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. Matthew 12:30 (NIV)
Jesus came to separate us for the single minded purpose of advancing the Kingdom here on earth.
From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Matthew 4:17
Jesus came to save all, knowing many would not believe …
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:16-18
Jesus came to divide and multiply and in that order. Just ask the eleven disciples.
49 “I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled! 50 I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished! 51 Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. 52 For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” Luke 12:49-53
If our many ideas of unity and oneness are not centered on and in Jesus Christ then we are busy building our own Kingdoms, here on earth.
