Giving them half (pretty) the story cheats them of seeing the fullness of HIS glory

We were traveling inbound on US Highway 31 when a police led four vehicle motorcade decided to take over both lanes of traffic. And, mine you … there was plenty of traffic. My heart completely stopped as Jimmy took our vehicle to the Alabama grass. My Jimmy’s defensive move likely helped saved both our lives.

We are under fire over here.

Opposition is brutal.

But, what I know is. Our Father, my Father will rescue us from our current situation.

There is not a single doubt in my mind or on my heart.

There is not a doubt in the stillness of my soul.

He will do it.

If He did it once (and He did).

He will do it again. And, yes I am reminded of a song!

Yes, our rescue will likely be different this time. But, our God is still the same.

I speak from experience, not just Bible stories, studies and theories.

Some folks sing because they’re happy.

Some folks sing because they have a song. I sing because we have a savior all the day long. His name is Jesus.

We are under fire over here.

Opposition is brutal.

Some folks, family and friends are wondering why, I’m sharing the truth of my story.

And, let me just tell you …

I’m sharing the ugly truth of my story, just like I shared the pretty truth … of my story. I am not ashamed of the work our Father is doing in this my one life. I don’t want to lead you astray. I don’t want you to think following Jesus is all pretty pictures and props. I don’t want you to wake up in the mist of trouble and wonder how you got there. I don’t want you to think it’s all about pretty ranches and roses. Cause it’s not.

When we only share pretty parts and pages, it all becomes just like the stage is.

Some folks are feeding you a line of crap. Please know with the all of my heart, I will not do that. If it’s ugly I will share the ugly. If it’s pretty I will share the pretty. If I cut off all my hair in the mist of it all … you will see me with short hair. If I travel to Selma for Bloody Sunday and we are all barred from the bridge, then you will know the truth of my story. Our Father has not blessed me with the talent to sing along with music. That’s right … I am the peculiar black bird with a different rhythm. That’s right … I am the peculiar black bird who has no business wearing a choir robe. So instead, I sing with written words and images. And, every now and again I catch some rhythm in the written word because some black birds on the wire write, while others sing.

I am sharing the all of my story for no other thing then His honor and glory. Sometime, it’s pretty. Sometimes it’s not. This morning I searched Biblegateway for the word valley and it occurs in our Father’s word some one hundred and fifty-three times. This morning I also searched Biblegateway for the word mountain and it occurs some two hundred and ninety-four times.

But what I noticed about the word valley was this … much springs forth in the valley.

And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the Lord, Because the Syrians have said, The Lord is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

Our God is God in the valley.

Our God is God of the hills.

Our God is God of the mountains and the mountain top.

And our God owns even the east of winds.

Our God is big. He is bigger than homelessness

Our God is big. He is bigger than happiness.

Our God is big. He is bigger than all of our helpfulness.

Giving them half (pretty) the story cheats them of seeing the fullness of HIS glory in this your one life.
