In this age of 40 Under Forty

Moses would have been over qualified

It’s Wednesday and we are joining my friend Holley for

Coffee for Your Heart weekly link-up!

The words to that song keep playing back in my head.

Over and over again for days on end,

It seems as if it will never end …

You know I’ve always been a dreamer
(spent my life running ’round)
And it’s so hard to change
(Can’t seem to settle down)
But the dreams I’ve seen lately
Keep on turning out and burning out
And turning out the same

Then another turn breaks into my head …

These are the days of Elijah …

There’s no God like Jehovah!

You see I’ve been in reflective mode over here.

In the heart of Tennessee I’ve been thinking back.

I’ve been remembering a thing or two.

As my eighteen year old married daughter prepares for her High School commencement.

I find myself extremely thankful for our mostly single mom journey.

I find myself in awe of the Lord.

I have not a doubt that my Daddy prayed for his Grand Daughter

to find love and marriage in her youth.

You know … Like the Bible says.

I mean after all she is named after his Mother.

Who was of course youthfully married. Unlike me.

There’s no God like Jehovah!

There’s no God like Jehovah and never in a million years could I have dreamed up this life.

Never in a million years would I have dreamed that my son would already

be getting informal offers (football) from schools like Stanford,

There’s no God like Jehovah!

There’s no God like Jehovah and our study of The Life of Moses proves

we never know when in one’s life God may intend to use us or someone else.

In this age of 40 Under Forty, Moses would have been over qualified.

You see we could easily be eighty like Moses when God calls us.

Or maybe even older like Aaron.

You see, the truth of the matter is …

We just can’t out dream God!

So, last week I laid down my dreams for my children.

Because, they are his children, as am I

There’s no God like Jehovah!

Prompted by Him to rise a bit early this morning I discovered

a luncheon for women in publishing that takes place on this day.

If you knew the status of my bank account, you too would understand my excitement!

So, what do you need to lay down or take out of your “purse”?
