Weekly Weekend Wrap-up plus End of Season Review

Today marks the end of one journey and the beginning of another

This is it, today is the day! Today marks the end of one journey and the beginning of another. I started blogging in 2008, when I quit working on the copy desk for The Daily News Journal. Jimmy Hart was the editor, and he now works at MTSU. Taylor Loyal was my shift editor and he now is employed at Second Harvest. Editor Jimmy Hart had some very kind words for me, knowing I was quitting because my children were home alone. It is refreshing to know we are all friends.

This is it, today is the day! Today marks the end of one journey and the beginning of another. I started blogging in 2008. It’s been seven years of full time blogging. The first year I did no thing but observe the blogging landscape.

I was the first African American to graduate from a small design school in Franklin. It is now known as O’More College of Design. While there I applied my natural talents and graduated in 1985 with a 3.5 GPA. After becoming a Mother I attended Nashville State for another 2.5 years and majored in Communication Design. Before graduating I landed an Ad Design job with Franklin Publishing which at the time published a weekly news paper.

This is it, today is the day! Today marks the end of one journey and the beginning of another. I started blogging in 2008. It’s been seven years of full time blogging. Today I am trusting God with everything. Today, I am ending this season of full time blogging on a high note. Today, I created the image above to highlight a few good blogging moments. Please know there are many. Please know there are many good and not so good blogging lifestyle moments in the archives. It’s all in there, the good, the bad and the ugly. It’s all right here. All one needs to do is dig around a little and some dirt will work it’s way to the surface. All and all, it’s been a really good life. I am in complete awe of the God that we serve. And, then there is Jesus, well, he’s been so good to me I have a special name just for him. To me he is the Princess Keeper! It may not feel like he’s keeping you but know he is.

This summer I hope to focus on reading the entire Bible in 90 days, getting my body in better shape, my family, all my children and the Good News Sunday Show.

Yes, I created a campaign to take the summer off. I did this to honor God. This entire blogging platform belongs to him. I am but a vessel available to be used by him and for him. In all that I do, it is my desire to honor him. Yes, often I mess up and miss the mark, but that too is just another opportunity for his glory to be reveled in my everyday story.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,  since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV)

This is it, the end marks the beginning.

I hope and pray your summer is filled with the awe and wonder of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
